"This year was the first time I participated in Susan G. Komen Madison Race for the Cure®. It is an event that I will be part of every year. To see the sea of people that participated as we walked was beyond words - I was moved to tears to see all of the survivors."
Who We Are > Komen Madison
Like so many Affiliates across the country, our Affiliate started with a Race – the Susan G. Komen Madison Race for the Cure®! A group of dedicated volunteers and sponsors made Madison's first Race, in 1998, a HUGE success!

Our appreciation and sincere gratitude go out to all of the people and sponsors who have
contributed their time and talent to make these events successful- and in turn have enabled
our Affiliate to be the community resource that people turn to when they hear the words,
"You have breast cancer".
We didn't get to this level of success without the vision of our founding Committee and
Board Members and very generous Sponsors.
Those people include Phil Blake, former Publisher of the Wisconsin State Journal, Susan
