Wigs for Patients

High quality wigs, turbans and scarves are available at no charge for patients who are receiving treatment at the UW and are experiencing hair loss due to treatment for cancer or other illnesses. Volunteers are trained to assist with choice, fitting and care. A licensed cosmetologist will cut and shape wigs free of charge for patients utilizing the program. Inpatients need to be accompanied by a staff member for the entire appointment.

On Site Breast Care Services Manager

On site breast care services manager will help you throughout the diagnostic process by providing information on breast health and answering questions on breast health. Sponsors numerous support groups online and held at various locations. Screening and diagnostic tools. Surgical services and information. Genetic counseling, physical and occupational therapy, biopsies, lymphedema products and services.

Meriter Hospital Supervised Exercise Therapy

Self-monitored, medically supervised exercise program providing an individualized, supervised exercise program of proper intensity, duration and progression to improve health. The program meets two times per week for one hour each session. The program is held on 9 Tower in Meriter Hospital. Physician consent is required before scheduling a one-hour initial assessment with an exercise physiologist.

Fees: If you are a member of Meriter Preferred, you will receive a discount. The cost is $51 for an 8-class pass. There is a $38 initial assessment fee. If you have insurance through Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation, you may be eligible for fee reimbursement.

Meriter WomanCare Clinic

Offers care to those experiencing gynecological and menopausal side effects as a result of breast cancer treatments. Make an appointment with a physician, nurse practitioner, psychologist or urologist. The Meriter WomanCare Clinic will accept only certain insurance plans.

Renewing Life

Eight-week program for people with life-threatening or chronic physical illnesses and their family members or support people. Discover transformation tools for living in the circumstances of illness: how to fight for your life, how to thrive instead of just survive treatment, and how to access mind-body techniques for healing. Transportation Air

Provides a one-time opportunity for two free round trip tickets for Wisconsin cancer patients going to treatment outside Wisconsin. Patients must be in financial need and provide verification of medical need from their physician. This service is provided though a partnership of the American Cancer Society and Midwest Express.
